The global LPG market is expected to restore supply and demand balance
Release Date: 2017-12-06   |   Concen: 389

The latest news is that global production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is expected to continue to grow in 2018, with the market poised to shake off the current tight supply.

The report predicts that global LPG inventories will continue to fall until the fourth quarter of this year, but that the supply growth of LPG will accelerate in the next year, leading to a gradual rebalancing of market demand and supply.

This year, the world's supply of LPG grew by just 60, 000 barrels a day last year, according to figures. ESAIEnergy expects global LPG supplies to rise by 300,000 barrels per day next year, driven by general growth outside North America. At the same time, the decline in global LPG stocks is expected to slow in 2018, or stop altogether.

Andrew reed, an analyst at ESAIEnergy, said LPG's supply growth had no bright spots outside North America this year. The south pars gas field, which we had expected to be a source of new growth this year, has not stood out. However, with the continued growth of north American supply and the resumption of supply growth in south pars and other projects, we expect a gradual rebalancing of the LPG market.
