SKC and Eastman signed a patent license Mou to jointly expand the market of reusable PET bottle packaging materials

The two sides cooperate to build an environment-friendly plastic ecosystem, and SKC strives to achieve the goal of zero net plastic

On July 13, SKC of South Korea and Eastman of the United States signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on patent licensing related to SKC eco label and building an environmentally friendly plastic ecosystem, in order to expand the market of reusable PET bottle packaging materials centered on SKC eco label.

Eastman is a professional materials company, which mainly supplies plastic raw materials used in portable high-grade water bottles, medical devices, household appliances, cosmetic containers, PET bottles, heat shrinkable films and other products. SKC's cooperation with Eastman is mainly in North America and Europe for 20 years. With the signing of the agreement, it can be predicted that the demand for products with SKC ecological label and reusable concept will increase rapidly in the PET bottle packaging material market in the future.

SKC eco label is the world's leading heat shrinkable packaging material that can be reused together with PET bottles. The ink cleaned by the reuse process is used on the same material as PET bottles, which can be recycled together with PET bottles. Different from other material labels that must be discarded, SKC ecological label will not cause environmental pollution and protect the environment while improving the reuse rate.

SKC eco label is considered to be a product with good idea transformation and recycling. It was officially certified by the association of plastic recyclers (APR) in July 2016. In 2019, the products using SKC ecological label won the "APR Promotion Award" in the APR member competition and were rated as "innovator of the year", and the market demand continued to increase.

For a long time, SKC and Eastman have been actively developing reusable packaging materials in their respective fields. Through the patent license related to SKC ecological label, the two sides will work together to improve the reusability of pet. At the same time, SKC and Eastman will continue to explore areas that can strengthen cooperation and further strengthen the eco-friendly plastic ecosystem.
