TF QLM
Medium size TF QLM is developed as one new polymer free quick loss LCM (loss circulation material) with special treated fiber as viscosifier instead of polymers, which can optimize the rheology control of LCM slug and improve the LCM performance. TF QLM is acid soluble curing agent instead of regular calcium carbonate. The filtrated plug or LCM cake can be strongly solidified to strength the well bore and increase the mud density window accordingly. This product has strong sealing effect for not only partial losses control, but also for medium and severe losses control. Most of the TF QLM content is acid soluble, which can be applied to control the losses while drilling the target formation as it can be acidized during the well completion operation.

Technical Advantages
·Good plugging performance after the slug filtration completed to form strong solid plug for fluids loss control.
·Can be acidized as special LCM for target formation loss control.
·Easily mixing with fresh water/clear salt water only plus weighting agent needed, and it also can be mixed with other bridge agent if severe loss encountered.
·Can be used at the maximum temperature up to 180 °C.
·The filtrated plug will solidify after the quick filtration completed to plug the fractures existed.
·The TF QLM slug will not deteriorate in storage and will not solidify until filtration completed no matter at room temperature or during hot aged.
Mixing & Maintenance
·Recommended mixing procedure: fresh water/clear brines+ 20%~30% w/v TF QLM+ barite as needed, and the slug can be prepared standby before drilling to the thief zone. Do not stop the agitators until the slug pumped.
·Try not add the TF QLM directly into the active mud to prepare the quick loss slug for the speed of filtration will be reduced and the strong solid cake cannot form solidified plug in time before squeezed into the fractures.
·For reservoir damage prevention or seepage loss control, small amount of TF QLM can be added into active drilling fluid system while drilling, and the recommended concentration is 1.0~2.0%wt based on the active mud density or total solids content.
·Increase the amount of TF QLM concentration for the severe loss control when mixing slugs, and larger particle size of other bridge material (like coarser mica or walnut shell) can be used based on the loss rate encountered. Pilot tests should be done prior to mixing the slug.
·Do not squeeze the slug while the slug already comes up into the BHA annulus, especially when the BHA is in the open hole. Special attention should be paid on the risk of pipe stuck after the slug losses filtration for the plug may solidify before the BHA POOH to safe depth.
·Open ended BHA is recommended to pump the high concentration of TF QLM slug or the coarser sizes of other LCMs are mixed in the slug.
·Pull the BHA out of hole above the LCM slug level after the slug displaced out of drill pipe. Another better option is that pump the slug and displace it out of DP directly at the last casing shoe, then shut the well and displace the active mud to squeeze the slug between 200 to 300 psi every a few hours.
Packaging and Storage
TF QLM is packaged in multi-wall paper bags with polyethylene liner for 25 kg/sack, 25 lbs/sack or as customer required. Bioassay information is not available upon request. Handle as an industrial inert chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described on the transportation and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). It can be transported as normal chemicals which should be kept in dry place and the period of validity is 24 months.
