Selank is an anxiolytic peptide-based drug developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is a synthetic analog of human tetrapeptide phagocytosis peptide. The drugs in clinical trials provide continuous nootropic and anxioytic effects, which are useful for treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Selank's advantage is that there are no sedative or cognitive side effects, and there is no related addiction withdrawal syndrome. Selank also has very low toxicity, with overdose that proves harmless and even up to 500 times the effective dose. When released, the drug to be used is a 0.15% aqueous solution, which is applied to the nasal mucosa. It is believed that this is the best method for absorbing peptide-based drugs. The drug can be used to suppress feelings and stimuli in people with anxiety and anxiety disorders and stimulate learning and memory in healthy people.
