Description
Isoniazid is an antibacterial agent used primarily as a tuberculostatic. Target: Antibacterial Isoniazid is a prodrug and must be activated by a bacterial catalase-peroxidase enzyme that in M. tuberculosis is called KatG. KatG couples the isonicotinic acyl with NADH to form isonicotinic acyl-NADH complex. This complex binds tightly to the enoyl-acyl carrier protein reductase known as InhA, thereby blocking the natural enoyl-AcpM substrate and the action of fatty acid synthase. This process inhibits the synthesis of mycolic acid, required for the mycobacterial cell wall. A range of radicals are produced by KatG activation of isoniazid, including nitric oxide, which has also been shown to be important in the action of another antimycobacterial prodrug PA-824. Isoniazid is bactericidal to rapidly dividing mycobacteria, but is bacteriostatic if the mycobacteria are slow-growing.
Function
1.Antituberculosis It inhibits and kills Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Its biomembrane permeability is good. Because of its good curative effect, low toxicity, low cost, and convenience for oral administration, it is listed as the first choice antituberculosis drug.
2.Antibacterial Isoniazid is highly selective for Mycobacterium tuberculosis, strong antibacterial activity, bacteria have bactericidal effect
Use
Mainly used for various types of tuberculosis, but also for tuberculous meningitis and other extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Often used in conjunction with other anti-tuberculosis drugs.
1. Biochemical research. High performance liquid chromatography fluorescence assay? 4 (4 superscript) - 3 fluorenone. Pharmaceutical industry. Mainly used for various types of tuberculosis, but also for tuberculous meningitis and other extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Often used in conjunction with other anti-tuberculosis drugs.
2. Isoniazid is also an antidepressant, but it has withdrawn from the market because of its strong liver toxicity.
Applications
Biochemical studies, as anti-tb drugs.
Anti-tb drugs for various types of tuberculosis.
It is mainly used for various types of tuberculosis, and can also be used for tuberculous meningitis and other pulmonary tuberculosis. It is often used in conjunction with other anti-tb drugs.
Isoniazid has a high selectivity for TB bacillus, and is strongly antibacterial. In the test tube, the concentration of 0.025 ~ 0.05mg/L can inhibit the bacteria, which has a bactericidal effect on the bacteria in the breeding period.
Biochemical research. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fluorescence detection of 4(4 superscript)-3 steroids. The pharmaceutical industry.
