Functional characteristics:

2-methyl-4-chlorine is a phenoxycarboxylic acid selective herbicide with strong endogenous conductivity. 

It is mainly used for Post-Seedling stem and leaf treatment. It passes through the cuticle and cytoplasmic membrane and finally transmits to various parts. 

It has different effects on nucleic acid and protein synthesis in different parts and inhibits nucleic acid metabolism and protein synthesis at the top of plants. 

It can stop the growth of the growing point and the young leaves can't stretch until the photosynthesis can't proceed normally; the medicaments transmitted to the lower part of the plant can increase the synthesis of nucleic acid and protein in the stem tissue, promote the abnormal division of cells, enlarge the root tips, lose the ability to absorb nutrients, cause the stem to twist, deform and sieve tube. 

Blockage, phloem destruction, and obstruction of organic transport, thus destroying the normal living ability of plants, eventually leading to plant death. 

The selectivity of its action is the same as 2,4-drop. But its volatility and action speed are lower and slower than 2,4-butyl ester EC, so it is safer than 2,4-butyl ester EC in cold region. Gramineae plants are very sensitive at seedling stage, and their resistance gradually increases after 3-4 leaf stage, which is the strongest at the end of tillering stage and increases again at the end of young panicle differentiation. 

Therefore, it is suitable to apply pesticides at the end of tillering stage of rice, wheat and other dry land crops to control Lagerstroemia trifoliata, Hyacinth, Alisma orientalis, Cigus wilfordii and other broad-leaved weeds.
